ryan, you are brilliant. I love how you find the beauty in the ordinary and take exceptional pictures. i'm sure one day you will find something you are not good at. your pictures tell peoples' stories in ways that words simply wouldn't do. thanks for sharing 'em! smile. #23469

Thanks for the comments guys. I was walking down this narrow cobblestone street to go swimming in the small harbor of this Cinque Terra town when I noticed these men engrossed in animated conversation...so I acted like I was browsing through some post cards and just watched these guys for about 10 min. I managed to get a couple of shots...and then went on my way. Well at the end of the day (6 or 7 hours later) my friends and I were walking back up the hill and they were still there! In the same order, still as animated as ever, and still carrying on! amazing... #26793

Hi Ryan! I'm hoping you can answer a question for me. Did you have to get a model release to post this shot, or is it only if you're going to sell the shot? I have wondered about that, because sometimes I get shots of complete strangers, and don't feel comfortable with going up to them and asking them to sign a model release. So, I'm just curious, because I worry about them coming back on me if I do post and they haven't given permission.

Cathy,

Honestly, I don't even know who these guys are...they are still in their Italian village...probably sitting on this same bench. So no, I didn't get a model release. I would be strict if I intended to sell these pictures in all honesty...but I am just posting here. Most of these shots are of friends except for a few and I do get verbal permission from them. I know that probably doesn't help much...and might not be the right answer...but there you go. Thanks for asking...and thanks for commenting.
