Great work Dave! I think the color version has a greater visual impact than the b & W version. I think the B & W version is a bit flat. There is more contrasts in this one. Love how the lighthouse comes out of the fog. Terrific work! #750823

Thanks Dave. I agree on the color version as well. I shot it cookie cutter dead center so much so that I couldn't even crop it of center enough to look good. This one took a little longer in PS that I really like but I'm glad you like the finished product. Thanks for commenting. Dave #4866503

Nice image, Dave. I prefer this version. It's nice to see the lighthouse off center. I think that really improves the composition.
I've discovered something that is really interesting to try and I think it may work well on this image. Try flipping it horizontally. It can produce surprising results.

Wow...Dave, wonderful image!! I love this version over the B&W...I agree with dave P., it tends to be 'flat'. This one has character! Very nice POV. Love the fog and how the lighthouse comes up out of it too!!! SUPER image!!!!!!! #4880147

Hey Steve and Dianna, thanks for your comments and observations. Steve, when I had tweeked this image for color and contrast and didn't have enough space to off-center the lighthouse as I shot it tightly cropped and vertical. I kept hearing you in my head telling me to find a way. I am glad you noticed. After moving the lighthouse the first time I printed it and realized I hadn't moved the reflection!

Dianna, I agree about the B&W. I don't think the image has enough contrast to work. Early autumn is wonderful fog time for this section of NY. Dave #4881750

Beautiful work Dave! Fog can be very difficult to capture and even more difficult to fine tune in post processing. Love the muted colour, it punctuates the silence of the mist. Well done :) #4922060

Thank you Crystal. I love the fog that fills the Hudson Valley in the fall. I was lucky to get this capture. Right time right place. #4931155
