Red Window

I think I'm a bit obsessed with red right now. :) I don't know why - this picture in PS is super crisp, grainy but here, no matter how much I sharpen, it still looks soft. Anyway, this was taken in Sonoma this past weekend. It's so interesting there - so much wealth and luxury and then this, practically next door. And, of course, next to a stately mansion - I'd take this, as a photographer, any day! :)

I find that all of mine are soft on this site..not sure why..but, this is a great find, Laura. #742109Laura Stetser September 19, 2007
Thanks Brinn. Glad to know it's not me. :) #4812217Louise Kumpf September 19, 2007
Laura, I love the brillant red against the weathered boards, and the straightforward composition. After many months of tearing my hair out I finally discovered that by keeping the shorter side of the image to 480 pixels, rather than 500, I was able to retain the sharpness of the original. I bet this will work for you too! #4813312Laura Stetser September 20, 2007
Thanks Louise! I just tried this on an image I uploaded and it does seem to help. Thanks so much for the tip! :) #4816708Denise M. Snyder September 20, 2007
What a great location this would make for portraiture... gorgeous color - and I LOOOOOOOOVE red too! I have the same issues with mine being soft. I love this one though. #4818304Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
