Handheld? Are you a surgeon?
Excellent detail, especially in the body and wings of the beetle.
Love the iridescent color of the insect and how it contrasts with the velvet hue of the flower.
Great lighting and composition, as well.

Wonderful, Dolores! This little beetle looks like he's metallic! You've captured the flower and beetle colors beautifully! #644638

Hi bill! Surgeon? I remind me of the movie, "Shakiest Gun in the West" with Don Knotts! 180/sec I can handle if there is a chair nearby to but my arm! THank you for acknowledging my image today. As always, I appreciate your kind gesture.

Hello Deb! I love the copper colors on Japanese beetles...yes, they do seem metallic, don't they? THank you for taking time to post your kind words. I appreciate them. #644649

Hello DArren! Had a good time with my Japanese beetles today. One is still in the house somewhere...poor thing. Hopefully he'll be in a window so I can scoot him out tomorrow. You'll think I'm crazy but I always talk to them and tell them I'll put them back...and I always do. THanks so much for complimenting this shot, Darren! And congrats on all your wins I'm seeing around!

Hey there Barbara! You know ....I think I have the shakiest hands ever! There was a rocker that I was able to butt my elbow against...otherwise it'd look like a slow shutter speed shot! THank you so much for your praise on this image. I appreciate your kindness! #644846

Wonderful...Love the colors...I never thought to capture a Japenese beetle...the little devils, I dislike them so...eating my garden but this sure is great... #657052

Thank you, Kelly! That's about the only place I'd like to see them too...in a photo. They sure are destructive critters, I agree! THank you for the smile! #657088
