Red Hat-resubmitted
Uploaded: August 15, 2007
Ft. Bragg coast line. The botanical gardens area backs up to the coastal line. We walked out to the bluffs and Saw these beautiful Large rocks and one with a misplaced red hat on it! Aroud 3pm. Overcast day. I gave it a little bit of saturation and then highligted the water area and gave it a small light blue tint to make it look less gloomy. Happy Red Hat Day!!(Catch-all)

Good morning Brenda, what a great find. Makes me wonder what happened to the owner of the hat. #715026Brenda c. McFarland August 15, 2007
Good Morning Susan! Not sure, my 2 guesses were someone climbed out there when the tide was low and left it or It blew off someones head and landed there! That would be some luck just to land like that. But you never know!! #4652192Donna K. Kilcher August 15, 2007

LOL! I know. Jillian if the hat had been any more orangy then I may not have noticed it!! hehehe! #4652801April Riggs August 15, 2007
Great find! We could only imagine where the owner is! LOL! #4653517Brenda c. McFarland August 15, 2007
Hi April. Yep who knows where she is! #4653620Tammy Espino August 15, 2007
{Putting on purple dress}. I think a shark ate the hat owner. Looks like a shark fin in that water to the far left towards the middle! I would like to be sitting on that rock. What a nice photo :) #4653660Tammy Espino August 15, 2007
I mean far left more towards the top, yup that's a shark fin! #4653663Brenda c. McFarland August 15, 2007
LOL! She was probably skinny dipping and the shark looked at her and decided MMMM LUNCH!! I think what you see are smaller rocks because there where a bunch that I cropped out. But wouldn't have that been cool if there really was a shark out there and I actually did take a picture without knowing! #4653759frank w. degenhardt August 16, 2007
Good eye tammy. I noitced that to and thought the same thing. When I look at a picture I always look for the less obvious first, then the rest of the pic. Brenda, another great job. Clarity, color, comp and detail all excellent. Keep up the great work #4654671Brenda c. McFarland August 16, 2007
Hi Frank! Thanks for your lovely comment. I always enjoy reading your critques. That hat being out there on those rocks just seemed so funny to me. #4656657Vickie Skellenger August 16, 2007
Cute capture sis!I am going to agree with all the shark voters out there. Looks like the left over snack wrapper..hehehehe
This would make a cute BW with color added back into the hat only as well. #4658319

Brenda- ah the return of the red hat. Did you ever find its owner/ Loved it back then, love it now. Love the little extra punch you gave it. Love the lightng, the clarity, colors and details.Steven E. Ray April 02, 2008
This is a totally fun picture! I thought of those orange ear plugs you wear when working with power tools when I first saw this :) It is a provoking mystery that stimulates the mind. Based on the hat style, I could see it being susceptible to a gust of wind, displaced quickly and far as to be irretrievable by the owner. Love the photo Brenda! #5735768Brenda c.
