Description

Took this at Olbrich Botanical Garden's, Madison WI., Blooming Butterfly Expo.
Comment's welcome and have a GREAT DAY!
Thanks to Bob for critiqing my photo

7/21/07 1:25:22, 1/90 sec, 14.80 aperture, 60.00mm, ISO 80, Natural light.

Blackened some out of the background.
To the original, render filter spotlight, flood filter,
Made a copy, posterize edges on the butterfly.
Masked, (I think darken mode), the original and copy together to tone down the posterize edges and darken the butterfly to original color.
Added 15% sat to the photo, Added additional sat to wood piece, used the right antenna for color to lighten the left antenna with the paint brush so you could see it, as it was to dark, Added 10% contrast to finish.

Thanks so very much Lynn. Not sure what his proboscis is lol, maybe the middle antenna thingy, but I don't try to top my photo's, just see things in my head and go from there becasue straight shooting isn't what they seem to like and have to digital work everything to get noticed.

Was working on commenting on this photo, but kept getting interupted. lol
the macro of this butterfly is just unbelievable. the colors, everything so sharp and detailed. Even the light shining on the water is just so perfect.This is one fantastic job you have done here. Peaches,
Must have been a very patient buttefly to sit still while you did all that!
Did you pay your model? Did you get a model release? Did you thank him/her??
He may have been happy to do it, I know my one antennae is lighter that the other too!:):)
(Sorry for the craziness just trying to make her smile while she feels bad!)

Seriously, that is an amazing bit of work (to me) and it really is a cool shot. I hope to get to one of these one day. They have one in Cincinnati and maybe will.
