I Remember You

Uploaded: July 13, 2007

Description

Today marks the fourth month since my son Cole's death. Friday the 13th was always one of his favorite days. Although my heart is still aching and the pain of losing him seems to renew itself every month around this time, I have to smile when I see this favorite picture of mine. I remember how he would pose for me even when everyone else was sick of getting their pictures taken.

Rest in Peace my darling

Marta, look at that little face! Such a handsome boy. So sorry for your loss. I am glad to see that you are focusing on the positive though... remembering the things about him that bring you joy. Thank you for sharing this with us today!

Marta,

It seems like it's been longer than 4 months since Cole's passing to a better place...I'm glad you're gradually getting over the pain. I still can't imagine what that hurt is like - four of my five children moved back to Florida (actually my oldest daughter moved back to NC) to live with my ex...I miss them all terribly but at least I get to see them about once a year and talk on the phone...you'll be in my prayers - please keep me in yours...take care!

p.s. BTW, an awesome portrait of Cole!!! #4506645

Thank you so much Robert! It's strange how time keeps going whether we're ready for it to or not. It must be tough to have so many miles between you and your kids...I'm glad you still have contact with them. I will definately keep you in my prayers. Take care! #4507908

Fantastic capture, Marta. Cole was such a handsome young man. Love all the colors. I know he is looking down smiling at you. Maybe our sons are together with each other. We must always cherish our children. We never know when one of them will be gone. It is so hard to believe that they went before us. Just doesn't seem right. Keep those memories alive and keep posting pictures of him. I love looking at photos of Justin. Still seems like yesterday that he passed away. It has been 7 yrs now. Praying for you and your family. #4514241

Thank you so much Kay! I really appreciate all of your kind words of support. It means a lot to me. It is hard to believe that our precious boys had to go before us but I am confident that, when our time comes, they will be there to welcome us with arms wide open. I will keep you and Justin in my thoughts and prayers. #4515020

Marta, I pray for your family!!
I had taken photos of a friend of mine baby at 10 mos. old. Because he was a special needs child, no one would take pics of him cause of the extra time it took. He passed away a couple months after that photo. And that photo is the last one taken of him smiling! It is soooooo precious to have our photos! To some,, pictures may be just snapshots of our kids. But to us, its the world!!! You have an adorable son and may God keep you!! #4779255

Thank you very much Jillian! You are so right about the meaning of our photos. It was so awesome of you to take that last shot of your friend's baby. You just never know when it may be the last one you get. Take care and keep the faith! #4779960

Lots of us have felt the painful loss of those we love and I hope you will reach out to me if there is anything I can do to help you through this dark time in your life.
