The Face in the Tree Trunk

Uploaded: August 26, 2002

Description

As I was passing by this tree in the cemetery where I often go for photo walks, I first noticed that it had recently been pruned--and then I noticed patterns that looked very much like a stern human face in the bark near the bottom of the tree. Taken with my Nikon CP 4500.

I love to look at the texture and lines in tree trunks. This one defintely has a lot of character which you captured very well in your picture. I thought I could see two faces: the one in the bottom of the picture and another where it was pruned, it looks like an angry face with a kind of cat eye. Hmmm.. be careful there at night! #8177

Thank you very much, Mary. My husband and someone on another site said they could see two faces, too. I still only see one, though. PS I don't go there at night! #12470
