Lightning in Full Force

Uploaded: April 20, 2007

Description

This image was captured with a Canon 20D, 20-40mm f2.8 @ 20mm. ISO 100, f11, and a 20 sec. exposure on 4-2-07 in Rockford, IL. I thought this was a great shot to show comparison on how large some lightning strikes can be. This bolt dwarfs the 4 story hotel in the forground along I-90 after slight cropping. The only PS is slight curves and minor color adjustments and contrast.

A truly amazing shot - and it shows just how awesome the power of nature can be! I think I saw a lightning bolt just like this in our storms last night. However, I am too busy being a chicken to take this kind of picture! Great work Paul! #4214203
