Lightning - All in a row
Uploaded: April 11, 2007
ISO 100, 13 sec. exposure, f11, at 22mm. Canon 20D w/ Sigma 20-40mm f2.8. taken 4/3/07 2:15 a.m. on I-90 in northern IL. This image was my favorite capture of the night of the 150 strikes I had been lucky enough to get. I also was using my homemade lightning trigger device. It fires the camera off of the pulse light of the lightning. So all you need is the right settings, direction, and focal length. It reduces the amount of blank images trying to capture the random bolts of a thunderstorm.

I'm so glad you explained how you achieved this OUTSTANDING shot! I tried 'til I was blue in the face to use the trigger fast enough to catch the lighting and NEVER did! Winning comp, Paul! #4156103Don Cox April 11, 2007
