Blue Palm Swirl

Description

Original photo of this young palm leaf was taken outdoors in natural sunlight. The leaf was separated from the shadowy background by very bright backlighting. By spot metering on the leaf for exposure, the background went totally black. Changed color to blue in ps8 and added swirl effect in photosuite (I liked the original but just started playing around and liked this better! Of course it has been raining here for 4 days straight!!!)

Jan, you are absolutely right - I have been cooped up too long and this is WAY out of the ordinary for me. I really had a negative opinion about digitally manipulated photos until I joined bp and saw all of the terrific, creative work being submitted!!!
