Two helpers, six leashes and a little bit of photoshop. ;) Thanks. I'm glad you like it. They now have 8 greys and the JRT is theirs as well. I'm planning on shooting all 9 soon. #4021177

Super portrait and lighting. Like the colorful collars #4092985

Thanks Stephen. Us greyhound owners tend to be collar collecters. They're almost all handmade except for one or two brands. They wear a special martingale collar that's not readily available, and almost never seen at a pet store. They're heads are actually smaller than their necks. The collars are fabric, and act in a tightening motion, but not harsh like a choke collar. #4093125

This is really a wonderful portrait of your friends...I take it you rescue these guys...which I think is a very good thing...My wife is a huge animal rights activist and she would say HURRAY to you because she things dog racing is barbarrick. #4093637

Thank you Ken, but can I clarify a little about racing for anyone interested here? Yes, these guys are all RETIRED, not rescued. We don't use that term, because the kennels these come from, the dogs are never in danger, they always go to an adoption kennel for adoption. The only time one is euthanized is for medically necessary reasons. Dog racing is actually quite humane. I've been in that world, and still am. These dogs are their owners bread and butter, if they're not treated well, well vetted, carefully trained, properly excercised, etc. the owner doesn't make money. Now all tracks, at least in the US, are required to have an adoption group associated with them, most have one right on site, and that adoption kennel is partially funded by the track itself. It's the law. YES, they are bad kennels and kennel owners, and I abhor them, and their are angels that fight for their dogs when they TRY to euthanize, and specialize in getting those dogs and adopting them out. I would never have any dealings with a kennel like that. It's like horse racing, their are good and their are bad, but the majority of owners are wonderful people who actually WANT to hear about their dogs after they've retired. I'll email ya more. But I wanted to clear up some misconceptions for others seeing my greyhound pictures.
One more tiny thing, if you go to www.gopups.com you'll see racers in action, and look at the passion in their eyes. They love to run. You should see how excited they get once they get from the kennels over to the holding kennels at the track. It's pure raw energy, and to hear them in the starting box, that adreneline firing is amazing. #4095527
