Hi Lue, wonderful shot...one that could hold it's own without the added filter on the sides. Great capture! #3599821

Larissa M. November 18, 2006

Thanks SO much for commenting, Margie!
Do you think it would be better without the filter? I have the original in my gallery.

Nice photo, a bit soft for my taste and I don't much care for the post processing vinetting.

Overall a nice image #3601061

Definetly like the original better! No need for the effects. Only other comment that I can offer it to lighten the eyes up a bit. Great work...and you have a great gallery! #3601127

somehow you're putting your subjects at ease and they come out so natural.
now if you can do that with strangers, your on your way,sam #3619976

Larissa M. November 23, 2006

Thanks so much for your encouraging comment, Sam!
I'll have to try that sometime and see how it comes out!

The soft effect resembles an untraditional cameo shot sort of. A reflector to kick some light back into her eye sockets would do wonders. #3631025

Larissa M. November 26, 2006

I'll try that next time...
thanks!!

Good pose and framing, but the face is a bit underexposed. See if you can dodge around the face a bit to lighten it up. #3659977

Thanks so much for your advice, Dennis!!

Thank you, Sam!
I appreciate everyone's advice, and think that if I ever changed this picture, it would make for a better one.
But, for now, I love it the way it is!

I'm not wild about vignetting either but a beautiful girl is a beautiful girl! Thanks for sharing her.

Larissa M. December 22, 2006

...but the best thing is that she's beautiful inside, too! :)
Thanks so much for your time, Pete!!
Do you like the original best?
I have it on page 2.

Yes I do prefer the original because it seems so much more natural. A studio shot can have all sorts of stuff done to it because it is obvious that it is a carefully posed and lit portrait but this is a very natural shot and in the original the in focus fir tree branch frames it just beautifully so that one concentrates on the face and no artificial vignetting is necessary.
