hey marissa,
it's just too bright out.
if you can take a photo of this same tree at 7am,12noon and 7pm, and then compare the photos I think it will only help you.
a circular polarizer will help a little,but not much.espically if your shooting into the sun.
and,don't always center your subjects.compose them to one side in some situations.

I was going to offset the tree a little however the cow in the vicinity didn't want to co-operate. I don't know if you have ever been to vietnam but it's kinda hot and all I wanted to do was get out of that feild. Thanx for the input I really appreciate your time and comments. #3624056
