Thank you Tarun, for your gracious comment. These little guys are not as colorful as some birds, but they have nice patterns in their feathers and they are not very camera-shy. #3457159

P.S. (So did he?) #5481816

Cary Rogers February 12, 2008

Thank you, Laura! As far as I know, he did NOT know me.....but he could have been watching and stalking me for weeks. There are bird-watchers, so mayhaps there are People-Watching birds; after all they have a great vantage point with which to witness our outdoor behaviors. ;-) #5484843

Laura E. Swan level-classic February 12, 2008

You are too funny Cary. I don't usually laugh and snort at the same time but you got me buddy! I'm still laughing! "could have been watching and stalking me for weeks"...Now that's classic! #5484922

Eivor Kuchta February 26, 2008

This is the female Red-winged blackbird isn't it? I didn't see any of them at Crown Hill yesterday, only the black, loud ones. She is very beautiful, too, and you got a great picture of her. Nicely cropped and edited! #5553876

Cary Rogers February 26, 2008

Thank you, Eivor! I'd been thinking that this was a species of sparrow--and a male--but after looking at some other photos of female red-wings, I think you may be right! The beak looks like a red-wing, and legs are black! Thanks for solving that mystery for me! So far this season, I have only seen males around here, as well. Thanks again for stopping by and commenting! #5555076

Janet Daniel May 25, 2008

Spectacular image, Cary! Beautifully done! #5974890

Cary Rogers May 25, 2008

Thank you, Janet....I appreciate you stopping-by and looking through my gallery! I enjoy the challenge of shooting birds (with a camera), because of their innate beauty, and unpredictability. #5975403
