Thanks, Kasia, Robin, Colette and Carolyn for your Comments!! Been taking Tony Sweet's class and it has been a real challenge since it's winter and no flowers blooming... did find a nursery to let me come in and photograph their flowers but they didn't get anything new in this week.. Pickens were slim!!! #349037

Nice closeup, soft light and colors Dottie! How do you manage to use a tripod for outdoor flower closeups? Do you use a wind-break of some kind? Aren't you forever moving the tripod? I find the slightest breeze becomes a problem so I rarely use a tripod. I usually use a pretty fast shutter speed, manually focus and shoot a burst of 2 or 3 frames hoping that one will be in focus. But I'm sure open to suggestion :0) #349150

Good selective focus Dottie, and I like your angle - from the back. Good luck on your continuous flower hunt. #349171

Hi, Murry...When I shot this I was using nps 160 film...and a F4.5 which my shutter speed ended up at 60sec. My saving salvation with this was I was at a Nursery which still had the plastic roofing on and gave a nice diffused lighting. Also, I use a focusing rail and that elements a lot of moving around with the tripod. I do have one problem I am forever going in too close. What I see thru the lens is what I want every enlargement to be.. I even have a grid!!! So I have to really concentrate on that..Not to close!! #349194
