Description

A tribute to the great Australian author Colin Thiele who passed away this week at the age of 85. One of my favorite books as a child 'Storm Boy' featured a wonderful pelican hero called Mr Percival. September 2006

I only found out about Colin's passing today over breakfast in the newspaper.......I guess with so much tragic loss this week it didn't make the big headlines.
A wonderful image to dedicate to a fantastic author.

A remarkable close up of Percival, Julie! Every pelican we meet, we always say "G'Day Percy" to them, and have always done so since we read the book, and saw the movie. I actually have some video of the pelican that stared in the movie, captured at Adelaids Seaworld before it was forced to close down. #3288835
