Description

The sunset was one of the best I've ever seen, but I found myself on a lonely beach without much for complimentary subjects so I used a 1 second exposure to capture this wave streaking towards me. It's one of my favorite images. 17-40 at 17mm. 2-stop grad ND filter.

Incredible image, Mark. The more I stare at it the more I sense the movement in the incoming flow of water. #3225728

Yeah, I have to agree, the motion is what makes this, as well as the great exposure with the grad ND. Nice! #3236955

It did not feel much when I looked at the thumbnail. But when I enlarged it, I just started feeling dizzy as I focused more. It just felt like those waves are pulling me inside and I really thought I was losing. This is absolutely original picture.

Also Marc, hearty congratulations about winning photo on National Geographic. The crater lake photo is stunning.

Marc, if you were tasked to design a sales brochure for God, titled "Heaven & Earth.... In the beginning..." your images would have all been used. This could have been the cover :). Don't know which pic made NG, but will go and check yr gallery! Congrats!! #3464745
