Description

Hanalei valley, Kauai
I wish I could have stayed longer but had to get the Harley back to the rental shop before they closed.
We drove 150 miles from Nawiliwili to Waimea canyon and then all the way to Hanalei and back to Nawiliwili in one day. We got sprinked on 3 times just enough to cool us down and dried off in about 1 min. Couldn't have ask for a better day for a ride.

Thanks Evy, Helen, Leanne, Stan and Carla so much!
Stan I looked for this particular spot because of your Hanalei taro fields shot and just had to see it in person. I couldn't remember where you shot it but was pretty sure it was on Kauai so I just kept looking for it. I saw a sign for a lookout and pulled over and there it was! So actually I should dedicate this shot to you!
I thought about trying to contact you but we were on Kauai for only 1 full day and left the next day around 2 so it would have been too hectic and I was on my anniversary trip so I had to keep my photography to a minimum. (Only shot about 250 pics the whole week.)
p.s. I just looked at yours again and decided I need more contrast in my shot...which I usually overdo but was trying to keep this one real for once. #3153609

I went back in June to shoot this one over and unfortunately the mango trees had grown to the point where you couldn't see the bottom portion of the taro fields. Went back again a couple of weeks ago and didn't like the outcome of the shots so dumped those!! So, you were there at a perfect time as someone had cleared the view. You sure covered a lot of miles for the one day and am looking forward to more of your great shots. Well, there's always a next time and don't forget that if you head this way you know where to find us :-)!!
Much Aloha,
