This picture is right up my husband's interests. Did you use about a 30 sec. exposure or there abouts? What kind of film. Was it print film. Looks a little grainy which is to my liking coz it always seems to add a "painted" look; which this picture seems to have to me. #5389

The exposure was more like 10 minutes give or take a few. Film was Kodak 400 Gold Print. It was late and I needed a rest after driving for hours but after I hit the rest stop the scene begged me to shoot it. #7704

Hi Gene, Paul just looked at this picture...we both guessed way off in the timing. He said about an hr. That's why we explain in our website that we are "new" to photography. A picture like this is truly a learning experience. Thank you for the information. #7721

Also, Paul is thinking about using a big flashlight to paint the trees while the shutter was open. Think that would work? #7722

New or old photography is a nearly always a learning experience. Some of my best shots were mistakes. Painting with light is way cool. I have done it with both a flashlight and a flash. I prefer the flash due to the fact the flashlight tends to look yellow in the finished print or slide. Try both and see what you like. (Hint) Try the flash from different angles and distances for different effects. #7740
