Thanks for your detailed comments. It's so great to get feedback. I'll take a look at your link. This was taken at sunset at Nassau Beach, also known as Nickerson Beach. It's in Lido Beach, NY on the south shore of Long Island. #3207480

Hi Martie, I have to agree with Aaron here on this image. I happen to love sweeping skies with varied cloud formations like this. You composed it so well. The lifeguard's stand plcaement really lends a sense of depth and leads you through the image. So well done! #3933161Martie Last February 19, 2007
Thank you. This was one of the first pictures I took when I got my camera. Now I see that the horizon is a little askew and there is a lot of lens distortion. Next summer I'll go bck and try again with the new skills I've accumulated. Your encouraging words are certainly motivational. #3963496Kaye Burazin March 10, 2007
Even with the horizon a bit off, this shows your talent and eye for great photography Martie. Your work is exceptional! #4042541Martie Last July 21, 2007
Thanks, Kaye! It's funny that I should read your comment today. I was just thinking of going back to the beach tonight to try this shot again one year later. Wish me luck! ...Always nice to hear from you. #4536089Kcalpesh B. Ajugia July 23, 2007
Hey Martie, there is a really good feel in this photograph. Not able to explain exactly by words, but the immediate reaction was, "I want to be there...." :-) #4542259Joerg Schlagheck September 06, 2007
hmm, funny, but I just discovered this shot now! It is superb! Wonder why it has no finalist award on it?! ;) #4755767Martie Last December 31, 2007
Thank you Kcalpesh and Joerg. I just found your comments today! It is pretty funny that I took this right after I got my first camera. What luck, eh? And you can see the distortion from the cheap wida ange lens I used. Still, it is a magical place at sunset. Thanks, as always, for looking. --Martie #5273455Mike D. Perez January 01, 2008
Beautiufl composition, lighting and colors, Martie! If you use PS, a little Edit/Transform/Distort should easily fix any horizon issues. Still a great image. #5276921Martie Last January 01, 2008
Thanks for the tip. I'll give that a try. I want to make myself a calendar and would like to use this photo, so a touch up would be welcome. #5277001Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
