Nice comp and good lighting, but there is a lot of noise in this. And the flowers is not in any really focus. But I think those should be easy to fix.
Nice try! #2890852

Thank you Rachel. Bill J. #2891127

Hi again Rachel, is it the green background that you say is not in focus, it was intended that it was to be out of focus. Thanks again anyway, Bili J. #2891142

Great shot and superb compositon, but yes, there is a lot of noise, specially specially noticeable on the green background. This could occurs by using a high ISO value or a long exposition time, but it's easy to fix, you need to apply the despeckle tool. (Adjust -> Add / remove noise -> Despeckle. This path is from Jasc Photo Shop Pro 8.0, I'm sure that PS includes a similar tool also.)

Bill I had in mind the flower. But it is just an opinion. #2891749

William Johnson June 14, 2006

Hi Mario and Rachel, Thank you for both you comments and suggestions. I don't understand why there is so much noise as the ISO was only 100! I will have a go at removing the noise, as you suggest later on. Bill J. #2895260

Bill the flower is beautiful! The noise often appears when there is dark colors in the bg using shallow depth of field. I would just run something like noise ninja on it. Be careful you don't over due it because you will soften the flower. #2896697

That's beautiful Bill! Kinda reminds me of a Can-Can Dancer's skirt. Gorgeous! :o) #2913706

Thank you very much, Bill and Alison for you comments. You're right Alison, I hadn't thought of that- a Can-Can Dancers skirt! Bill J. #2915334

Beautifully detailed flower shot. About the background, I think you must've figured out what to do. #2931896

William Johnson July 09, 2006

Peggy, Sergio, Thank you both for commenting.

Yes it was intentional Sergio, LOL. (Only joking). No I'm afraid it just turned out that way. Bill J. #3002308

Bill, the flower does not look soft to me, and on my monitor, the background is quite dark so I find it hard to see the noise. I think the flower is beautiful! #3045086
