It looks like it was shot in a studio! Great job! #2776719

The white rope and white background make him stand out so well Joe! They are slightly different to our swallows which fly up from Africa in the summer. Ours have the red but it ends sooner and more neatly with a nice black collar. We have some nesting in our porch and I just had to go out today with a bucket and brush to wash off their mess! But I do love to share our house with them! #2777834

Thanks so much Tarun,Melinda and Kate.I certainly appreciate your nice comments. We call this Swallow, the Welcome Swallow, which I believe is a common name for many Swallows in other countries anyhow(but ours is a non migratory Swallow and indigenous to Australia),and is easily identified with its forked tail.(when you can see it!).Always fairly close to waterways,a delightful bird to watch, with sometimes probally 50 or more in a flock, but a little hard to photograph most times, as their small size and quick erratic flight do not help either, but sometimes they settle down,as with this shot. #2783173
