WOW! this is one scary looking gator. Looks a little too close to me. I do, however like to capture them on film as well. I have one in my gallery if you want to check it out. Not as scary as yours though. (kinda glad) :)) #403063

You are using a wide angle lens! It's very effective, but a bit close to the gator for me, as well. Was there are sturdy wall or big boat between you and the gator?

Hey Bunny. Sorry for the late response! Actually this was taken about 10 feet away. We're walking on a wooden walkway, nothing between me and him. Just nature . . . Great place to go. Not too far from New Orleans either. #4873839

I cannot move fast enough to get away, as I've had a total hip within the last two years, and a total knee replacement this year. It's enough for me to walk with a cane, much less carry a camera or run to get away. I cannot run, only hobble.

In my younger years, when I was active with the Sierra Club Delta Chapter, we saw such critters while out canoeing in the Atchafayala Basin, the Honey Island Swamp or Jean Lafitte Swamp. But those days are gone for me, anyway. #4875240

Great shot and well deserved EP. I am just looking at your gallery. Bill #6247284
