Herald In The Summer Storm

Uploaded: February 25, 2006

Description

Lightning shots are new to me,(not storm clouds..I love them),but I do realise that some lightning "hangs in the sky" Its frozen for maybe a sec or two...enough time to pull the trigger. This was not the best of them to capture on the day,but its a start. Over the Swan River, towards Perth City,Western Australia.21Feb,2006. 2.11PM

The lightening does look a bit tame compared to some but it is pink so maybe should go in the monthly theme Joe!!

Wonderful, wonderful sky and I love the light especially on the tower blocks! #398898

Funny that pink lightning Kate, maybe its very rare and much slower than the normal lightning and thats why I managed to capture it.Like pink lightning is slower than the speed of light!! Maybe I best read up on capturing day time lightning on BP! But the darkened sky and the light on the boats was wonderful.Yes I should have put it in this months theme, but its too late now. Thanks Kate. #2473377

Great capture Joe ~ I love the curvy line of the lightening, also love the sharpness of the buildings outlined on that dramatic sky ~ well done! #2484651

Thanks so much Susie for your nice comments. It was realy a bit of fun trying to shoot lightning(I will not stand right under it though!!).It was possible to shoot lightning on this day with the darkened sky to the rear.I have learnt a bit from my first attempt at lightning, and will be ready for the next electrical storm event. Thanks again Susie. #2487049

Great timing Joe, you have some great shots. I have never been to Australia... I assume you live there?
