Empty City

Uploaded: January 25, 2006

Description

I took this picture on my first day back in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. The city was still evacuated, but as an engineer working on recovery efforts, I had documents to get through the military roadblocks. I was awestruck when I drove across the Mississippi River in broad daylight, and couldn't see another car on the road. I drive across this bridge every day, but normally there is traffic on it 24-7. It was a very strange sight for me.

Really nice Photo on it's own. But even more powerful considering where and when it was taken. God Bless all those hurting in our country. #2547318

I liked this when I saw it first time, and I like it again, whilst scrolling through your gallery. I hope things are on their way back to normal in your city. I'm sure it'll take a long long time, but many people think of y'all often. #3467855

Thanks Robyn. Many things are back to normal or getting there. Many other things will probably never be the same.

But hey, our football team is kicking butt! ;-)
