Love the eyes and the way you filled the frame—essence of Tigerness! If you haven't been there already, visit the tigresses at Disney's Animal Kingdom. Four sisters play in an ancient Indian prince's palace garden. It's especially fun to see them splash each other in the fountain. Bet you could take some breath-taking shots. #2276802

Thank you, very much, everyone, for your kind comments. I am thrilled that this photo was chosen as POTD. Tara is a very special cat. I've been photographing her, at our local zoo, since she was just under a year old. She's now 7 years old and a beautiful tigress. She has come to know me over the years and often greets me with chuffs and other tiger talk. This photo was taken with an Olympus C740 Ultra Zoom camera. It has a non-removable zoom lens on it, which extends to 380mm. #2276944

Oh that is a nice one, you can see her affection for you in her eyes, that makes the shot, no maliciousness mean eyes, just "come on let's play". I read her eyes. As a photog you know it is a great shot because of clarity, color, content, and sharpness. As Tara's mommy, I see the love. Congrats. Thank you, Mary and Linda. This was shot thru a photographers hole the tigers enclosure. If I zoom past the hole I can usually get a nice shot without any fencing in it. Only close-up shots though, or I get too much of the enclosure in the background and foreground. Yes, Linda, I commented on your photo earlier this afternoon. It's a great shot.
