Damselfly Framed in Green

Uploaded: July 12, 2020 | Entered: July 12, 2020 07:44:01

Description

Though the names damselfly and dragonfly are often used interchangeably, because of its dull, brown color, small size, slender body, and the position of the wings when resting, I believe this is a female damselfly. Damselflies are in the order Odonata, the suborder Zygoptera. Aquatic and predatory, they favor freshwater habitats and are welcome because they help control nuisance insects like mosquitoes.
