Description

Bald Eagle shot at Conowingo Dam in Darlington, Maryland in November of 2019. Shot with a Sony Alpha7 RIV with 200-600 mm lens fully extended at 600mm on a Wimberly tripod head. Exposure is F/8 @ 1/1250 - ISO 800. I wanted an image that celebrates the uniqueness of the location specific to the hydro-electric plant. I wanted an image different from many others that have only water and rocks in background. I chose 800 ISO to keep the dam identifiable (at f/8) while having enough shutter speed to freeze the action. I selected this shot out of many because the wingspan covers the entire height of the dam. The message in this photo is that wildlife can flourish in harmony with man-made structures.

Exif: Camera: SONY ILCE-7RM4; Shutter Speed: 3435973/4294967295; Aperture: f/8.0; ISO: 800; Orientation: 1; Date: 2020:03:17 17:58:43

John, this is an Absolutely beautiful rendition of the Bald Eagle and the Conowingo Dam. I have been there but without the super long lense. A Winner in the Animal catagory for sure. A FAV <>< #1735751
