Description

It is not surprising that many are not familiar with fish balls. Fishball is a highly competitive but little known sport although its few fans are rabid supporters. Basically, it is similar to tennis in that one hits a fish ball back and forth over a net. There are 3 players per side. If a player fails to return a fish ball and it touches the ground, the other side is awarded a point, Now here's the tricky part. To cause your opponents to miss, a player tries to hit the fish ball as hard as possible WITHOUT causing it to break. If it does, all the fish fall out and die and the playing court then becomes very slippery. The team that has broken the fish ball loses 10 points, The best Fishball players compete in the NAPFPL (North American Professional Fishball Player's League). The current champions are the Atlantis Crustaceans. There are a growing number of Fishball Little Leagues but they play with unbreakable fish balls as too many fish were dying.
