Windows on Fourth Avenue

This narrow 16-story spiral staircase is one of the hallmarks of the Bank Tower, considered one of Pittsburgh's earliest skyscrapers. The staircase with an oak banister runs from the top to the bottom of the building.
Built around 1895, the Bank Tower is situated along a stretch of Wood Street and Fourth Avenue that was once known as Pittsburgh's Wall Street because of the many financial institutions that occupied space in the area. I worked in this building for about two years, and remember running up and down these stairs. A gorgeous building.
