You are going to have so much fun with that macro lens and get some amazing works of art like you did here with a disposable razor. Love the lines, the colors are bold, the lighting is bright, the shapes are interesting, and I love what looks like little lights. A gorgeous look Patrick, Have fun. #11693234

Congrats on your new lens, Paddy! I'm impressed that you've been producing so many captivating close-ups for so long without a macro lens, and excited to see what you'll do now! This image for instance, is another brilliant view of mystery and graphic beauty excavated from a common object. It looks like a secret tunnel below a brightly colored subway station. Great color, tones, balance in this superb abstract!! #11693279

Thanks, everyone! Looking forward to learning how to use the new lens! #11693287

Martha, got some of my favourite close ups with the Canon a-410 and the Canon G-9. Then 4-5 years ago I got the Canon D-60 and have been using the kit lens - (85-135mm-)for close ups. I actually did't think it was that unusual or impressive because I had nothing else to compare it to- if that makes sense. I guess we learn to "make do" with what we have. #11693292

Patrick, Martha's comments are so on point, your macros have always been so detailed and beautiful and I always assumed they had been taken with a macro lens!! I hope you enjoy your new lens and I look forward to seeing your images taken with it, this one is such a creative and perfectly framed image with beautiful color, light and texture!! #11693489
