Swan River,Perth,Western Australia. My best identification is the Great Egret water bird.Still about 20 mins to actual sunrise, but also very heavy cloud above.10Dec,2005. 4.45AM

Thanks Bonnie,Jeff,Adilson and Richard.I actually went early for sunrise, but the massive clouds to the east made that idea a flop.So I was happy to snap this bird and check it out in my fairly recently aquired,Ozz bird book! #2176839Kate Jackson December 13, 2005
IMPRESSED!!! WOW!!!Joe Terni December 15, 2005
Finaly back online Kate.I was up early that morning, but not sure how I managed that lately.I go through cycles, like the seasons.I love being up early but find the desire to sleep much greater sometimes! I hope to change into summer mode very soon.It was still darkish, but a bit of early light just beginning, but heaps of big clouds. He did see me,but seemed to be happy I was there, and I felt happy he was there too.In some ways I think both of us were still half asleep,or maybe three quarters asleep, but he did start looking for fish soon after I walked away,as I was looking back and looking for my car keys. Thanks so much Kate. #2188323Susie Peek-Swint December 18, 2005
