Description

This is a photo of a Brown or Western Brown Butterfly (Heteronympha merope ssp. Duboulayi) Male.
It was a magical moment that I was lucky enough to share with this beautiful creature. The butterfly was enjoying the dappled sunshine as I was enjoying his display.
His wings had a stain glass window effect it was stunning and a not to miss photo opportunity. Though I was torn between just soaking up this moment or taking a photo.
He spent a number of minutes flying around me then landing several times in different poses.
It really was a great moment for me, these are the moments I live for and are the reason I go out into nature. So now I share my moments through my photos with you all.
This was taken hand held with natural light to show the back lit wings. I spared no time in getting the photo I wanted. This one is by far my favourite.
I just simply love the back lit wings, so beautiful.

Haha aww thank you Val you always say the nicest things :) Yes I gave him a tip of my hat with this photo :) and thank him out loud, I'm sure if anyone was there they would think I'm nuts :P. I absolutely loved the moment it really restored my love of nature and photography. I am going through some hard times and medical issues too so this little guy reached me and restored me.
