Description

This flower is named for the first person to document it. It looks like a thistle but is actually a member of the parsley family. It grows in dry, rocky prairie in chalk or limestone soils and can be found in the southeastern quarter of the state.
Canon 100-400mmL, ISO 100, f/5.6, 1/250.
PSE find edges, Omni lighting.
Found on roadside of farm road in Crawford County, Kansas, on a bright, sunny, and windy afternoon.
