This is a picture of my beloved trail shoes after running my last trail race of the year, called the Dirty Dirty 12k. Notice they are not that dirty!

I took this photo in our spare bedroom that has nice south and west light. I think this will be my new indoor studio. I used my 5 in 1 reflector set and used the diffuser panel to bring the light down a bit so I had a more even exposure of the top and side of the shoe.

You are lucky I didn't bring my camera to the stables-it could have been horse poop you'd be looking at! #1553887

May I be the first to say thank you for the choice you made! #10906914

Funny! I told Tom and Erin at the dinner table about the dirty challenge (which by the way this is why I posted a picture of my dirty shoe), and Erin said, "You should have taken a picture of Daddy's dirty underwear!"

So I guess there are worse things than horse poop!

I like it! Nice detail and lighting. The dirt shows up but the colors and textures of the shoe are wonderful. I think the dirt adds to the story here rather than being the subject. Of the choices, I am very glad you went with this one. #10907144

I think you made the wise choice! You have great details in this, and awesome job with the light! Congratulations on running a 12k!! #10907703

Elaine--I love looking at pictures and have to figure out what they are. Great shot. I wish I had a sunny room in my house.
Still haven't thought about what to add to the challenge. #10907761

Now you have told us what your image is of, it's obvious; but previously I had no idea!
12k? That would be seven and a half miles wouldn't it? I'm impressed and your running shoes deserve their place in Phellos history too.
And as the others have said, we do appreciate your wise choice of subjects to portray. :)
