Description

Yesterday afternoon around 3.30pm - just before the weather worsened and dusk came along. Primarily this quick trip out was to experiement with my newly acquired ND grad filter. When I go to Madeira next week (!!) I will have lots of landscape opportunities and wanted to try and make the most of them.

I have not tried one of these yet, but have buddies who swear by them ! I look forward to seeing what you do with the filter, maybe you could posy a shot with and w/o it so we can see the difference? Have a great vacation and get lots of great pictures to share! :-) #1990738

Thanks Dan, Janine and Jill.

Jill - I did do some yesterday - (with and without). Talking of 'without' - I was in such a rush to escape the house and get out there - I took the filter but forgot the conversion ring. Thus, all the shots had to be taken with me holding it in place!! Ah well, they were just to have a first go! I am looking forward to using it in Madeira when I have more time, along with a polariser. Just hope I can do it! #1990746

This is gorgeous and that dramatic sky punctuates the scene!! Beautifully done, Janet!! Will be looking forward to the scenes of Madeira (my Mom's family's birthplace!).

STUNNING capture, Janet - especially when you had to hold your new ND grad filter in place by hand!! Don't forget to take your conversion ring to Madeira, will you?!! ;o)

I guess this scene is not TOO far from where you live in Wales - you are SO fortunate to have such GORGEOUS scenery close to your place!! That DRAMATIC sky, with the sun's rays coming down through the clouds, REALLY sets this image off BEAUTIFULLY!! :o) #1990772

Thank you all so much, as always, for your wonderful comments. I appreciate them so much. This was taken just a short distance from my home - a 25 minute walk or a 10 minute drive in the car. It is my very local area and a scene I see often, but tend not to appreciate! #1993586

Oh Janet - this is so beautiful......you have really captured this gorgeous location so well.
I love it - bet you are almost counting sleeps until you leave.
I am pleased you liked the sandstone window image.....PS - we survived the storm but many places lost power for most of the night.
Catch up soon.
