The Empty Nest
Uploaded: November 18, 2012
We had several nests in our barn and in some mighty interesting places where I would never think to look, like empty bird feeders, lawn decorations, ect...I am glad to say we no longer have these visitors thanks to pest control!! The wasp will chew on wood that mixes with saliva to make pulp for these paper nest. Pretty cool. Adjusted curvers, and cropped. Have a great day my friends!! *Details/Macro*

Great shot! I once lifted the lid of a bird feeder only to be stung multiple times on the back of my hand. A little tiny nest only an inch or two in size was affixed to the bottom of the lid.I prayed for my hand to fall off, the pain was so intense! #10425094

Wow. I am so glad we are all here after these stories.I was to Heritage Park (my favorite theme park in Calgary) one summer when a wasp made it up the back of my loose fitting cotton blouse.
He found his way in but couldn't find his way out.
We have pine trees all over the city and I thought I had a pine needle poking me on my back. (Over and over).
Finally after several annoying "pokes" I swung my arm back there to get the pine needle out of my shirt and as I banged and shook the material out fell the wasp. Big one, too.
You should have seen my back. A month I wont soon forget. Lol...
Terrific macro, Laura :D
