Sandi,

Thanks for your sweet compliment of
Lily. I used a Canon EF50 f1.8 lens
to get a fantastic, clear focused
close-up. I recommend buying one
for about $110. on Amazon.

lou, I had a 50mm canon f1.8 lens too and burned up the lens taking welding shots, nbut it is a really nice lens. You have a knack for taking portraits so I wanted to share a couple of things with you that I think you will find are really cool and the results even cooler. Put Lilly in a room where there is some kind of diffused light coming thru a window. The shade really needs to be up and she need to be within a couple of feet of the window so that you can get you shutter spped fast enough since babies are so wiggly. Set you aperature a couple of stops up from the lowest stop and aim for the eyes. Set your ISO for hopefully no higher than 400, Just see what happens, I think you will be pleased. And one more thing, if you don't already shoot in RAW, try it, it is really COOL, post processing is so incredible and the shots are so much nicer and sharper and clearer when you shoot in RAW. I hope you don't mind me sharing this info with you, but the diffused lighting really makes an incredible portrait effect.
Rock ON!
