Chapel of the Holy Cross

Uploaded: November 24, 2011

Description

Spectacular, striking, and amazing are all adjectives I would use to describe this chapel.

The Chapel was designed by a Catholic woman, artist and sculptor, Margurite Brunswig Staude, to honour her parents and was completed in 1956. It stands between two peaks of red sandstone, and is a stunning addition to the landscape. Its total height is 250 ft and the cross is 90 ft.

It is non-denominational even though it is under the protection of the local Catholic diocese.

Exif: F Number: 14, Exposure Bias Value: 0.00, ExposureTime: 1/200 seconds, Flash: did not fire., ISO: 320, White balance: Manual white balance, FocalLength: 60.00 mm, Model: NIKON D700

I like the unusual man made structure jumping out of the rock and showcased by the blue sky. This must have been an amazing shot to capture. Happy trails Carolyn. #9832373
