This made me smile this morning. Great timing and capture of the flying water drops. #9477957Bunny Snow June 23, 2011
When I captured this, I used a high shutter speed to stop movements of water droplets, but I had not taken Lewis Kemper's class. His exposure correction techniques in Photoshop made this so much better that I decided to enter it again.Thank you for commenting, Sarah, Marcie, and Joy. #9478481

This one took two tries. Capture was the easy part. Learning to process it was taught by Lewis Kemper in his DVD's. It was trial and error until it finally came together. Then, I was as delighted as my favorite bluejay. #9810992Songbird Cline November 16, 2011
Hahahaa, I wish I could do so well in two tries! Terrific image! #9811010Susan K. Snow November 16, 2011
My initial image was slightly overexposed, but Lewis taught us a simple way to reduce or add exposure in terms of stops using multiply to darken or screen to lighten. Using a black mask and painting with white, I darkened the exposure, which created beautiful colors in the bird as well as the background. It was so easy, but such a struggle before I took his class.I still have another CD/DVD to purchase to get the rest of the class in "movies" and then find the time to sit and through trial and error learn the material.
Sitting long periods is difficult for me since my last injury. I'm better if I can stand or move with my Volaris Rollator. That elegantly designed machine has made it easier to capture images because I can walk into uneven ground and not loose my balance. And, I can even carry a tripod and camera with one lens (and filters) to carry out my mission.
I love your gallery, Songbird, you create beautiful work. #9811551
