Yeah, Jodi...you're back! This is a beautiful image with a soft DOF and perfect placement of his right eye (our left)! #1382149

Yea yea Jodi is back! Welcome back Jodi.

Love those green eyes.

I think this one lends itself to a much tighter crop. I went 4X5 on the screen capture and a lot tighter so this is a little tough pixel wise but you should have better luck with the original. I also adjusted levels slightly and selectively sharpened the eyes. This is just an idea and open to changes. #9441420

ooh, thank you. I love the crop suggestion Michael. i'll definitely try that one #9441455

Jeff E Jensen June 02, 2011

Mike beat me to the crop suggestion. I also like what his other adjustments did as well.

Good to have you back Jodi! #9441548

so nice to have you back Jodi and you've given us another great image. The crop is a nice touch and works very well for a shot like this.

Also love the eyes and the quality of the exposure and fine focus. Well done. #9441613

jodi such a beautiful cat. what its name. I thought immediately I thought it needed a crop. Mike's crop is just what it needed. this is a great capture with very nice lightly. the eyes are beautiful #9442530

thank you guys!

i will try out the crop and repost.

Rita, this is my Polli (aka the polli cat and sometimes known as Fatty McButterpants) she's just about 12 yrs old, diabetic but also the most relaxed animal you will ever meet (even with getting daily insulin injections) :-) #9442733

Welcome back Jodi! Those are some gorgeous eyes there...even though Mikes crop highlights them, I liked your original crop too. #9443144

Hi. I like both your original, and Mike's crop, but I'm leaning toward the original because I like seeing her fur extend past her head. She's got attitude, doesn't she? #9443851

Jodi M. Walsh June 05, 2011

so I played a bit with the crop but I just couldn't get the 4x5 to look right. she either looked too centered or too low to the bottom.

also, my original was most out of camera- I adjust the levels just a little and resized.

so here is the final version that I went with. thanks for the ideas. I might keep trying different comps but i'm happy with this one too :-) #9444896

Good edit Jodi, but it's the oversize banner that draws the eye instead of the cat's eyes. #9445028

Such a pretty kitty! I like the crop you came up with and the detail in this one is fantastic as well as the lighting. My only other suggestion would have to be that I wish there was a tad more detail on that white area near the mouth, but it may have been blown out. You shoot in RAW right? :~) #9450401
