In the Late Afternoon Light

I really like the lighting on this. I'd be proud to have taken it. If anything, I might crop a tad off the top, but I've been playing with "cropping" it on the screen and I wouldn't take much off. #497

Thanks Sue for your feedback. I usually do compose along the lines you
suggested but in this case, I actually liked more space at the top of the
photo. I find that it adds interest to the photo. Often picutes can be too
centered - and slightly off-balance photos can be a little more dynamic from
time to time. #754

Absolutely stunning!! The light seems to outline the Egret. The background is out of focus so it does not distract from the foreground.
I know you did the "happy dance" when you saw this for the first time.. #2419

What a great picture! I wish I had taken it. I like the way the bird is so bright and the background is properly blurred. Love it. #29722

Denise...nice shot of a great egret...I like the way the sun highlights the outline and makes the beak translucent...very well done..nice composition too...good job! #1236834

Thank you all so much for your nice feedback - I appreciate the encouragement! This was one of those shots where you are so glad you decided to take your camera with you. We were driving along the California coast somewhere south of Santa Cruz when I saw this scene. Jim pulled over and I just took the shot right out the car window. #1236900
