Thanks Catherine. Getting any respectable depth with a macro lens is tough to start with. Adding an extension tube adds to the difficulty. So just close the lens down a little more and move the lens back a little further from the subject. Still, it's going to be fairly shallow.

After spending much of my time of late on bird photography I figured with spring it's time to focus more on macro.

Thanks Rita and Art. I had to time this shot since the flower was somewhat in the shadow of the nandina bush it is close by. Though the wind was not that strong, thus not really disturbing the stillness of the subject, it was causing the nandian bush brances to move just enough to move the shadow across it from time to tim.
