Gas of the Past

Description

This photo was brought to life from a negative that was my father's. I used HDR Efex Pro and Topaz adjust to create the painted look.

Kathy, This is incredible and I love the HDR effect. I've not used either of those programs but your expertise in them makes me want to! The clarity is perfect, and I love how you took this from a negative. Very cool. #1363862

This is cool that you actually found something from the past. Great that you could edit it from a negative. You brought out all the good things about it. Being old for one but having the colors like they use to be way back when. Love the old gas stations. Use to come out and pump your gas for you, check your tires and oil too. #9317089

Thanks everyone. I wasn't sure what I could do with this until I just started working on it. I have tons of my dad's negatives and really want to honor him by bringing some of these alive. I think he would be amazed at what could be done with them. :) #9318915

Very well "brought to life", Kathy! I'd be curious to know what the price of gas was then! :) I love these old cars & pumps...as well as the service received! #9318961

Thanks Karen. Actually the price was posted but I couldn't crop it to get it in there and look right. It was quite away from the station. The price was 25.9 for regular and 27.9 for ethyl. I think that was the price in 1969 because I remember paying that for gas when I was in high school. As for the services, I know I didn't pump my own. :) #9322263

Hi Kathy: Those were great times. Life was simple as you can see from your well done image. I appreciate the vintage look and all the detail. Merna #9324406
