Heather,
This is a very unique, intriguing and creative image. I like the combination of the light and the depth-of -field you chose. Nice work.

Thanks Paul.
As I rounded a corner of the garden these fuzzy textured sumac branches were glowing with the lovely late afternoon back light. It sure caught my eye and I needed to try some shots.
Using a shallow depth of field gives the selective focus effect and softens some of the branches creating a contrast between the branches in focus and those that are not.
This image needed very little editing.
I darkened the midtones slightly, warmed up the color a bit and sharpened. #9027186

Heather
A great picture. These are hard to come by and it takes a very good eye to see the possibilities.

Thanks Mike.

I realize that this sort of photo is not everyone's 'cup of tea'
but I did notice how the light played on the texture of these branches and I felt compelled to try and capture the beauty I saw in that moment. #9050771
