Seven Tubs

Description

This area is called Seven Tubs Natural Area and is about 5 minutes from the Comfort Inn in Wilkes Barre. It's officially NOT a swimming hole where we'd all go to swim. This shot is more from the top where, when the water is higher and flowing faster, you'd jump in and spin and turn down the gorge, banging off rocks and stalled swimmers clutching to the sides.

Here is another view downstream. This shot is from the bridge which is quite easy to access from the parking lot. You can see that further exploration upstream can be precarious when trying to make photos of the rushing water. #1296758

What a great fun house this is. A bit rough for my liking these days my friend. Great shooting Marty. #8818220

Whoa...what a very narrow gorge...looks dangerously steep and slippery...I love the greenest of green of the moss and the wonderful rock textures but don't think I'd be brave enough to venture further than the bridge...altho, it does have a beckoning call to it for photo ops - not necessarily for swimming, tho! :) Beautiful capture, Marty, of this rugged part of your world! #8818513

Marty- Who would have thought. Five minutes from the hotel and you have this incredible beauty. Next time I stay at a Comfort Inn. The view and composition is so beuatiful. I love the depth that you show and the way you bring out the rock formations and the little river below. Gorgeous colors, Love the lays of the rocks, not sure I want to jump in at high water and bang against them though. A scenic beuaty my friend.
Have a great day and enjoy. #8818619

I had to take a few days off, too many projects. Hopefully I'm back. #8821764

Thanks everyone. You're all right. No matter how high the water gets, I'll stay and photograph instead of being rocked on the slide. #8822467

Thank you for the description. I will most certainly avoid swimming there should I ever visit. But I have to say that your picture of it enhances the idea of the coolness of the water, it's blue so inviting against the harsh rocks around it. #8822850

What a tranquil special spot you've found. Don't you feel sorry for all the people who never get out to witness the beauty of the land we take so for granted. Hopefully they at least get to see it through your eyes. #8827278
