BP Instructors: Doug Steakley and Lewis Kemper taught techniques in masking which helped me bring out more contrast contrast in the snow.

Thank you, Daniella. I was surprised that I was able to pull so much color from the dark trees. This was a scene that looked over-exposed coming out of Bridge, but Doug Steakley (Basic Masks) taught me to darken everything and then lighten key areas to move light throughout the scene. Those key areas that I lightened, were the dark trees and color and tonality other than greens came up. His technique saved the image.
