Rust is a general term for a series of iron oxides, usually red oxides, formed by the reaction of iron and oxygen in the presence of water or air moisture. I spied the wire tensioner on a fence near the Skillion when we showed Dominick Dimacale Terrigal beach on his recent trip to Australia. ~Pat and Graham

You are dealing with two of my subjects here, Pat & Graham!! My trade took me into the field of oxide formation, and maybe John has mentioned that our parents used to reside at Terrigal! This was like a second home to us as our children were growing up, and the Skillion has been scaled many times by us. A great place for Dominick to visit, and an excellent example of the liberal coating of oxide on that wire fence strainer. Well seen and taken!

Pat, great detail & DOF in this shot! Thanks for the info, too! I'm glad another BPer was able to visit so you could show him around. Sounds like fun! #8451678

Superb clarity of detail, textures, tones, selective depth of field, light and composition here, Pat & Graham!! Great eye to see this excellent photo op!! :o)

As Phil said above, Terrigal was a favourite summer destination for us over quite a number of years in the 70's and 80's...and we still have a soft spot for it!! :o) #8465751

Thankyou so much dear Carolyn! I just 'happened' to see it lol.

I meant to answer Phil but we had a slow modem and were away. Just got back.

We adore Terrigal, try to get there at least twice a week if not three times to take the dogs for a run.

John did mention his parents once his lived at Terrigal beach, such a wonderful place for Phil to grow up Carolyn.

Thankyou for your kind words and dropping in! Isn't it so wonderful to see Australian photos :o) ~Pat
