Kathmandu Saddhu – Hue/Sat After

Description

I wanted to give this photo a timeless quality and was trying for sepia tone. The first time I adjusted saturation to -74 to allow some color thru but could not get the hue to where I wanted it. I ended up adding a Color Balance layer and adjusting the midtones and liked that result. But since I was trying to just adjust hue/sat, I tried again and ended up with this as my second choice… it’s really pretty close.

I could not accomplish this with sliders alone on the Master layer and did not have success playing with individual colors. I checked the colorize option to see what it does and it was close, but a shade too pinky. It set hue/sat at 35/25/0 and I adjusted it to 42/22/0. I’m not exactly sure what colorize does tho…I’m guessing it adjusts the individual channels but I can’t tell.

Exif: F Number: 2.8, Exposure Bias Value: 0.00, ExposureTime: 1/125 seconds, Flash: Strobe return light not detected., ISO: 100, White balance: Manual white balance, FocalLength: 200.00 mm, Model: NIKON D200
